Charl Knitwear was created by knitwear designer Frankie Davies after working 20 years designing for other luxury fashion brands. They focus on heritage craftsmanship, often taking inspiration from fisherman knits and techniques. Frankie also works hard to create everything as ethically and sustainably as possible.

"The low funnel neck shape is true to the Norfolk Gansey patterns, knitted integrally to the body with “rung” stitch detailing along the shoulders and at the joins between arm hole and sleeve – just like the original Gansey jumpers in the Norfolk archives. There is a small reverse knit detail which runs along the side seam and underarms which can also be found on the original Ganseys, to mark the front and back of the jumpers. This detail is picked out beautifully in the stripe and creates a new detail – one of the things that makes each Charl piece so special."
