Charl Knits - Edie Jumper in Oatmeal And Navy
Charl Knitwear was founded by designer Frankie Davies, who spent 20 years creating knitwear for luxury fashion brands. The label celebrates heritage craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from traditional fisherman knits and techniques.
Each piece is thoughtfully designed and ethically produced, with a strong focus on sustainability, quality, and timeless style. Charl Knitwear combines expert craftsmanship and contemporary design to create knitwear that is both stylish and responsible.
The Edie jumper takes its cue from the traditional nautical knitwear worn by Norfolk fishermen in the 19th and early 20th centuries. With timeless nautical stripes and a classic polo collar, it’s a piece that feels both nostalgic and modern.
Named after Edie Middleton—a celebrated Sheringham knitter known for her beautiful “coils o’ rope” and “herringbone” patterns—this jumper carries the spirit of craftsmanship and tradition into every stitch.
The design features a flattering raglan shoulder, adapted from the popular Chibbles funnel neck, so the stripes flow seamlessly across the shoulders and onto back. Straight-cut sleeves make this piece easy to layer under a winter coat or autumn jacket, while the soft stepped hem with side splits gives a flattering, contemporary shape.
Wear it your way—tucked into high-waisted trousers, left loose over jeans for a casual weekend look, or layered with a camisole or tee. However you style it, Edie brings an elegant ease to everyday dressing.
The classic Breton Oatmeal and Navy stripe is knitted in 100% certified British wool, and are knitted in Perugia, Italy by a wonderful family run, small-scale knitting factory.
