Charl Knitwear was created by knitwear designer Frankie Davies after working 20 years designing for other luxury fashion brands. They focus on heritage craftsmanship, often taking inspiration from fisherman knits and techniques. Frankie also works hard to create everything as ethically and sustainably as possible.

‘This piece is named after Esther Nurse, a prominent knitter of Norfolk fishermen’s Gansey jumpers in the first half of the 20th century who came from Sheringham. Women didn’t tend to wear Gansey jumpers but always had a best shawl which they wore to church on a Sunday, this piece is inspired by that tradition’.
